Sky

female - young
Status: adopted

Sky is a 2 1/2-year-old Frenchie that came into our rescue as an owner surrender. Her owner took her to the ER as Sky was unable to walk or stand and needed emergency surgery. Her foster mom has done all of her rehab and you wouldn’t know she ever had spine issues and has IVDD-as she is up and walking and is an enthusiastic puppy raring to go go go! Whomever adopts her needs to be aware that since she has ivdd- she shouldn’t be jumping off of furniture or beds and should be carried up and down stairs. Also pet insurance will not cover surgery if it is needed anytime in her lifetime. With proper care and precautions- we hope surgery won’t be needed in her lifetime though!

Sky is totally crate trained as part of her rehab was strict crate rest after her surgery. Sky LOVES to give kisses and when she gets overly excited- those kisses can turn into nibbles, and she does have a tendency to display the mouthiness frenchies can do-so younger children would be a no for her forever home. Sky does have a body more like a Boston, but she is 100% all Frenchie!

Sky has a personality as big as her name- she loves going to the vet, meeting new people and being loved on. She is great on car rides but keep in mind- we always crate dogs when in our cars! She loves to go for walks and is potty trained.

Sky would either do great as an only frenchie to prevent flares ups from playing with another frenchie OR would do great with a laid back frenchie in her forever home.

Sky is a tad camera shy-so getting good photos of her IS a challenge- the majority of them are a blur as she can be in constant motion most of the time!

Sky’s adoption fee is $900 -she is spayed- up to date on all vaccines- heartworm Negative and current on her HW preventative. She is also micro chipped- comes with her bed- harness- leash and some of her current food.

Please remember we are a small regional rescue and our adoption area is within a two hour drive from Chicago.
