Ripley is a sweet, smart, petite 2-year-old girl weighing about 19 pounds—and while she may be small, her personality is anything but. She’s still very much in her puppy era, full of curiosity, enthusiasm, and playful energy, and she’s growing into her very best self every single day.
Ripley came to rescue after being surrendered for medical reasons, all of which have been fully addressed, and she’s feeling great now. With her health on track, she’s ready to focus on what she does best: being a joyful, affectionate, slightly mischievous little sidekick.
This girl has serious puppy energy. She loves to stay busy, explore her surroundings, and “help” with whatever you’re doing—sometimes by getting into things she probably shouldn’t. Because of that curious nature, Ripley will thrive in a tidy, attentive home where tempting items are kept out of reach and soft toys are only offered under close supervision.
Like many dogs, change can be hard for Ripley. Transitions take time, and she will need a patient, understanding family willing to give her a few days to decompress, settle in, and learn that she’s safe in her new home. With routine, consistency, and gentle guidance, Ripley relaxes and truly shines.
That said, Ripley also has a wonderfully sweet and cuddly side. After her bursts of activity, she’s happy to curl up with her people and soak up affection. Her favorite things, in no particular order, are food, bones, learning new things, and her humans—and once she’s fed, you’ll quickly become her whole world.
Ripley is very smart and eager to learn, already showing off her training skills and catching on quickly. She wants to please and does best with consistency and structure. She is about 75% potty trained and improving every day—continued routine (and warmer weather!) will help her shine.
She is crate trained and enjoys relaxing in her safe space, making her an easy fit for a home that values routine and comfort.
Other important details:
- Ripley is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention
- She has had palate and nares surgery
- She has a sensitive tummy and will need to remain on her prescription diet and probiotic long-term
- She has an eye condition that makes her more prone to ulcers, so she may need long-term eye ointment and routine veterinary follow-ups (next recheck in February)
- She is mostly dog-friendly, but prefers laid-back, passive dogs who are happy to let her take the lead—or she’d be perfectly content as the only dog
- She is kid-friendly, though due to her tendency to eat things she shouldn’t, a home with older children is best
Ripley’s adoption fee is $1,050. She will go home with her medications, blanket, current prescription food, leash, and harness.
If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, puppy-spirited companion with a big heart and a little sass, Ripley may be the perfect match. She’s ready for a forever home that will love her energy, guide her curiosity, and give her the patience she needs to settle in and thrive.
