Louie is a 1½-year-old French Bulldog with a big heart and an even bigger comeback story. When he first came into rescue, he was in rough shape—just 13 pounds and missing much of his hair. After thorough testing for skin conditions, it was determined that his hair loss was simply due to poor nutrition and living conditions. With time, love, and a healthy diet of Purina Pro Plan, Louie has made an incredible recovery! He now weighs a healthy 21 pounds, and his coat has grown back beautifully.
Louie is a gentle, loyal little guy who loves to stay by your side—so much so that you don’t have to worry about him running out the door, but as always, you should always be careful! He’s 100% house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is a quiet companion who rarely barks.
At home, Louie is well-mannered and easy to live with. He sleeps peacefully in his crate at night and stays there comfortably when his people are away. For short outings, he’s trusted to have the run of the house and does great. He doesn’t jump on furniture, but he’s always happy to be invited up for a cuddle on the couch.
Louie has recently learned to go up and down stairs and has discovered how much fun toys can be—he loves chasing them and playing a gentle game of tug! He enjoys other dogs, is calm and nonreactive on leash, and doesn’t mind cats at all. Squirrels catch his eye, but he doesn’t chase them.
Louie does well with children, but because of his enthusiasm during playtime, school-age kids would be the best fit. He’s currently the only dog in his foster home but would likely adapt well to having a canine companion if they are polite and gentle and not into rough housing. His ideal forever home would be one where someone is home most of the day to keep him company—he thrives on being close to his people.
After such a tough start, Louie has blossomed into a happy, healthy, and affectionate little companion. He’s ready for his forever family—a home where he’ll be loved, cared for, and treasured as part of the family.
Louie is neutered, microchipped, current on all vaccines as well as hw and flea/tick preventative. Fecal and hw test were both negative. Also comes with a bed, leash, harness, blanket and his current food. His adoption fee is $1100 and he’s looking forward to find his ideal forever home= could it be you?
