Laura is a 6 year old girl who was retired by a commercial breeder, but you wouldn’t guess her age or her past to look at her! She has the bouncy energy and curiosity of a confident young dog, and all the charm and charisma you’d expect from a Frenchie. Laura is a touch on the smaller side for a French bulldog, just under 25 lbs, with a beautiful soft brindled coat. Her big eyes and little popped-out tongue fit perfectly with her sweet and silly personality.
Since coming into foster care, Laura has settled very easily into the routine of living in a home. Although she does not have the ability to climb more than one or two stairs, she quickly learned how to use the ramp onto the couch for snuggles! She likes to spend her time at home snoozing in a spot where she can keep an eye on the whole house, or playing with her many stuffed squeaky toys. Although she was not given toys in her former life, she has been very curious and quick to learn how to enjoy things. Laura is also a quick study at house training, although she is still working on it. Inside the house, she will use pee pads, and can usually go up to 4 hours between walks and overnight with no issues. She is also still learning about regular meal times, and can sometimes be picky about finishing all her food when it’s put in front of her. On leash walks, Laura has shown steady improvement on pulling/stopping. She is very eager to greet other people and dogs on a walk, and is friendly with everyone.
In her current foster home, Laura has a very laid-back English Bulldog foster sister. She would do fine in a house with other dogs who don’t mind a little Frenchie sass. Laura’s favorite kind of people are all of them, and she would be fine with children as well that are 8 or older. She is sweet and gentle and a total little clown. As far as daily schedules, Laura is fine with being left alone for 2-3 hours during the day, but would need regular walks or day care time if left alone for longer. She is currently in an apartment with no yard, and enjoys her regular city walks, but would be just as happy with a home with a yard to run and play in.Most important to Laura is to have a home where she can be loved on and cuddled.
