Nicknames: Kenny G, Potato, Kenny G Potato Head
Kenny’s Radiographs were reported consistent with marked scoliosis, kyphosis and widening of spinal canal from T9-13. Varus deformity of femur bilaterally, patellas luxated medially bilaterally. It is imperative that a proper weight is always maintained to help him from not having problems in his future. These are preexisting and wouldn’t be covered under any medical insurance you would purchase for him-please take this in mind if you apply to adopt him. Kenny may or may not need patella surgery in his future.
Kenny is the most playful, funny, cuddly, loveable, and silly potato there ever was. He has a happy and joyous personality that is infectious. He will surely bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Kenny is adventurous and fearless. He gets along with other dogs and LOVES to play. His ideal home will have another playful dog for him to torment… I mean, for him to romp around with. He shares toys well, but would rather play with another dog instead of a toy. He prefers soft toys over hard / chew toys, so supervision is necessary to monitor destruction / de-stuffing of the toy. He does well with adults but has never been around kids. He mostly ignores cats, although he will sniff and investigate them. He is 100% puppy and will chew on anything that is not a toy…. towels, couch cushions, leaves, the outside of his crate, rugs, baskets, blankets, and ok, sometimes toys. His ideal home will be puppy-proof without access to non-toy items. It will also be important for Kenny’s future home to ensure he maintains a healthy weight
Kenny does great in a crate. He sleeps in a hard sided crate and will also stay in there when his person is away from the house. He is fed two times a day and eats meals in his crate. He also gets three to four small treats every time he goes in his crate for bedtime or when I leave the house. He will bark on car rides in his crate but will settle down after a while. He does alright on a leash but is still learning the ropes of neighborhood walks. Kenny doesn’t know any tricks like sit or stay, but he is mostly potty trained as long as he has regular outside access. Kenny cannot jump up on furniture but can use ramps that lead up onto couches and beds. He is able to go upstairs, but cannot go downstairs.
Kenny came from a puppy mill at just 8 months old, but he has never looked back since being released from the mill and he deserves a forever full of comfort and love
Kenny is neutered- up to date on his vaccines- HW negative and on monthly preventative-micro chipped and will come with a leash, harness, bed and some of his current food.
His adoption fee has been lowered due to his possible medical issues in his future and will be $650. If you think you are the ideal forever home for Kenny- please complete our application. Remember that we only adopt to those who reside within a 2 hour drive from Chicago.
