Don’t let those stunning eyes and adorable head tilt fool you! This boy thinks he is the boss when he is around other dominant dogs. Jameson will not back down, so please read his bio thoroughly before applying for him. If there is a resident dog, he/she must be a laid back, submissive dog.
Jameson was an owner surrender that came into rescue because he had a rectal prolapse. He was immediately rushed to the ER and they performed a procedure called purse stitch on him. Jameson was watched 24/7 for nearly 6 weeks. Jameson does not require a special diet but he is on sensitive stomach dog food and does extremely well on it. He does eat out of a slow feed bowl to slow him down a bit.
Jameson is 8 month sold and is 100% a puppy. He likes to put everything in his mouth and see if it is worth eating or just chewing on it. He requires constant eyes on him or he will find trouble! He is a very smart boy and currently has mastered the following commands: sit, wait, paw, around, high five, down, settle and come(this has been a bit more selective lately!). Jameson is highly food motivated so that helps with his training. He plays well with his foster fur siblings and they are teaching him the ropes. Sometimes he
can be that annoying little brother and not know his boundaries or play too rough. In situations like that he needs to be redirected or removed from the situation for a time out.
Jameson is working on leash walking. He likes to pull and lead the way. Continued puppy training is highly recommended so that Jameson can continue to grow into a well-behaved adult. We try to take 1 walk a day and Jameson can easily continue to walk farther if time is permitted.
He loves to take walks and stops often to smell, explore and mark his territory. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night (8 hours) with no accidents. He can be in his crate for up to 3.5 hours during the day at a time. We have bells on the door that he rings when he wants to go potty or just out to explore the yard or chase leaves.
JJ loves to go in the car and is the perfect travel companion for running errands or longer car rides. He loves all people and the attention he gets when they greet him. He has not been around young children. He loves his kiddie pool in the summer and will jump into the shower with you…so watch out!
He loves to snuggle and is the best ear nibbler ever!! Jameson has been around a cat a few times and he did well. He loves to be the center of attention and has a loud, strong, deep bark for a little guy. Jameson weighs 20lbs. currently, and is a healthy puppy waiting for
his furever home. Also be forewarned- Jameson is part kangaroo- if you leave your chairs out from your dining table- he will jump up onto the chair and then onto your table.
