I’m a sweet 2 year old girl. My previous family loved and spoiled me, but just didn’t have enough time to care for me anymore.
Some things about me –
I’m energetic and loving. I have a very sweet temperament and want to enjoy life like any other 2 yr old dog. I’m a happy, resilient little pup!
I LOVE my cart and can move around well in my wheels.
I’m good at letting you know when I need something like water, or my diaper changed. I’m not afraid to use my voice.
I’d like a home with either no dogs or one other dog who is calm, will play nice with me, and will give me space until I know I can trust them. It took a couple weeks with the resident frenchie boy who is 5 years old ,but now I love him and he even lets me share his bed with him.
I love squeaky toys! I mean I REALLY love them – as many as I can get my paws on! The squeaky noise really grabs my attention that it’s time to play. Balls too – I love to chase them. And a fenced-in yard would be ideal.
I don’t mind being in my x pen. I’m happy to be on my own there for a while. I don’t mind if you need to go out for a bit but need someone who works from home or is home most of the time to make sure I’m safe and clean. I could always come with you too – I love to ride in the car.
I like sitting on the couch with you (safely). I eat out of my pink fluff trough and that will come with me. I’m happy to sleep in my x pen, but your bed would be nice too. Just make sure I’m safe and secure on it.
Health – I was diagnosed with IVDD and had surgery about 4 months ago. My back end/legs are paralyzed (might get some more movement back, but no guarantees) and I wear a diaper for bathroom needs but need that to be aired out so I don’t get urinary infection- the ideal time is when I am outside in my cart to be diaper free.
We’re not sure if I have bowel or bladder control, so if you take me out to the grass, I sometimes go potty there, so you don’t have to change my diaper so often. Our vet says I have a small bladder and that it empties well enough on its own which means no need to express my bladder. I just got rid of a bladder stone and can be prone to bladder infections if I am not kept clean and dry. My favorite diapers are the pink ones with the ruffles in back.
I’ve been working weekly with a physical therapist, and I come with my wheels which I can be quite fast in. They’re easy to learn how to put me in. I love to take walks around the neighborhood in my wheels. I also scoot around pretty well in the house, wearing socks or my crocs to protect my feet. I will come with a harness that you can use to help me get around the house too. I have some exercises and stretches I do that we can show you.
I also like to rest, as it’s hard work getting around on my front legs. I do need someone to keep an eye on me when I’m not in my x pen to keep me safe, and also for when I need a diaper change. I’m on bladder health food that makes sure I don’t get kidney stones again, but no regular meds.
Caring for me does take extra time and effort – but once you get a routine down- it is pretty easy then. I’m so sweet and loving that it’s more than worth it. Please, no table scraps-even though I would love them=-they aren’t good for me. I think my prescription kibble is a treat. If you take good care of me, I’ll love you forever. A small quiet home would be ideal- no young children though please.
