Hello, Dolly! Or should we say Dhalia? CFBR’s newest entry to the available page is as sweet as a doll and as pretty as a flower! Dhalia is available for adoption and looking for her forever garden to put down roots!

Dahlia came into rescue when she was found as a stray and brought into animal control. Can you imagine this beautiful girl living on the streets? We were astounded that such a sweet, healthy girl was found all alone.

Our vets believe she is 2 years old and all puppy. She is mostly potty trained (her foster family reports only one accident so far) and crate trained, but she doesn’t know any commands. A family who is committed to training Dahlia will be necessary to teach this girl the basics. Sit, stay, come – all brand new to Miss Dahlia.

Dahlia’s fecal did came back with whip worms on April first and received meds for them, there are no visible worms in her stools, but she will need a fecal recheck on May 1rst if adopted by that time. She’s been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. Other than her fecal- she has not shown   signs of any health issues.

Another wonderful discovery while in our care is that Dahlia easily adapts to new situations and is pretty chill about rolling with life EXCEPT going potty on grass IF it is wet!

This pretty lady loves a walk and does well on a leash. While she would love a fenced yard to zoom around in and the fence has to be secured as she can be an escape artist, she does not need one so long as she has a consistent walk schedule.

Dahlia is definitely a people dog. If you’re looking for a frenchie who loves to stare lovingly in your eyes and lets you know she adores you-this is your girl! She loves to be in your lap and on your couch! An after-breakfast couch nap is part of her daily routine, but she also enjoys playing with her toys and other pups. A Frenchie brother or sister would be great for Dahlia, preferably one that will play with her and isn’t a couch potato- she has a LOT of playful puppy energy! Plus it will help her  learn some tips and tricks from her new sibling.

Dahlia has not been tested with kids. Given her energy level and the fact that she needs some help learning new commands, older children would probably be best. But an adult only home would be fine too. Dahlia is reportedly good with cats, but her foster family says she likes to chase squirrels so a home with small critters (rabbits, guinea pigs, etc…) might not be a great fit.

Dahlia’s foster family wants you to know just how special she is. They had this to say about her, “Dahlia is a perfect mix of a couch potato snuggle bug when you want to relax, but when it’s dinner time she will give you a zoomie show. Dolly is still a puppy and does not know a single command (sit, lay, etc) to save her life. She is incredibly sweet and came into our house with an open heart.”

Are you ready to open your home to sweet Dolly? If so, please fill out an application and tell us exactly why Dahlia is the right fit for your family!

Dahlia is spayed, microchipped, vaccines current and her adoption fee is $1050.
