My Thanks to the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue
I adopted Moujik, formerly known as Marley, on May 16th. He is now 8 months old. I have always loved the name Moujik, and for me, a French Bulldog needs a French name! In French slang Moujik means “guy” and how perfect for this little boy. Every Frenchie owned by the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent was named Moujik, and Moujik 2 was the subject of the final portrait painted by Andy Warhol; the only dog ever immortalized by this famous pop artist. He is a smart and affectionate dog with typical high energy. He is so agile he can run fast and leap into the air like a gazelle! Being a typical Frenchie, he is willful and not without several “brat attacks” each day. In spite of his history of abuse and neglect, within the past month he is now thriving. Training is going well and he loves his new home and neighborhood. He walks up to total strangers, sits down, and waits to be petted; he also enjoys playing with other pooches. Every day he visits his friends at the flower shop next door and sits patiently waiting for a treat. When I take him out at 6 am, while most people are still asleep and before he goes potty, he rushes to the door of the flower shop for a treat. He is a total delight and already loved by many. He will certainly grow up to be a great Frenchie. I am so happy I rescued him.Moujik is pictured with his new best friend Christine, who owns the flower shop next door.

Cassie is doing wonderfully. She is learning that she should go by the door if she needs to go out. She is doing her business outside more oftern and she is excited when we come home. She loves to lay on the couch next to me and be petted. She isso sweet. She and tiger are getting on well. They like to go walking outside together. Thanks for helping our Cassie,Pam

I just wanted to check in and send along some pictures of Petey. He is loving his new home and his new mom. I know he makes me smile everyday and I love spending all my time with him. He is such a sweet boy. He also is no longer wearing the spikey collar but walks very well in his harness.
I just wanted to say thank you. Roshanna Tokh
Mulligan- he is a whole different boy now- he loves his frenchie brother and adores and so appreciates all that his new mom and dad have done for him. Look at how handsome he is now-yeah Mulligan!
January, 2009 We adopted Dani (formally Dani Girl) a couple of weeks ago and she is such a delightful, cute and charming addition to our family! Our daughters, Wendy and Jenny, also have Frenchies, Roxy and Zella, and this Christmas was such a fun one with all three playing and running around. They couldn't decide which of the three beds to sleep in! Danny loves to cuddle, and every morning when we get up, we cuddle, and the same when we get home from work. Thank you all for rescuing Dani, and bringing her into our home. -Carol and Andy Ban
I am loving my new life! Look how happy and healthy I look!!
Hi! My name is Josie and I’m about 3 years old.The reason I don’t know my real birth dateis because I came from a puppy mill where birthdays didn’t matter.I lived in a cage and as soon as I was big enoughI was bred to have babies to sell.I suffer from a lot of allergies but I guess that made my old owners mad because they just ignored them and let me get sores all over my body and ear infections. They even kicked me so hard that they tore my diaphragm and some of my organs lodged around my heart and lungs. One day I was going to go to another mill, but a kind woman from a Golden Retriever Rescue saw me and saved me.She called CFBR and I went to live with a family who fell in love with me.I was half bald and covered with open sores so they took me topeople called veterinarians right away.(I had never met one but they are nice!)They treated my sores and sent me to specialists at Purdue University for surgery on my chest. When my old owners kicked me, my pancreas, spleen, uterus and ovary lodged around my heart, so it needed to get fixed or I would die.I came through the surgery with flying colors, but from years of neglect they found out I was deaf in one ear (too many untreated ear infections they said).I now see a specialist every month to treat my allergies and save my one good ear.I don’t have sores on my body anymore and my fur is soft and full now.I can hear pretty good now too especially when there are treats involved!I finally found out what love and a family is thanks to CFBR! When I go to sleep at night in my nice soft bed, surrounded by my canine brothers and sisters, and my new mom and dad, I pray other homeless, neglected, and mistreated Frenchies find a great home too!
