Cookie 5/2010
Cookie's name is as sweet as her personality......this little breeder retiree rejoins the ranks of CFBR's available dogs after being adopted for a short period of time. Her new home loved her dearly, but had too many steps for Cookie to navigate. Being the devoted canine that she is, she followed her new mom everywhere, including up and down the stairs. All that climbing aggravated Cookie's arthritis, so in Cookie's best interest, she is back in the rescue until we can find her a forever home that is all on one level. For those of you who didn't catch Cookie's first act, she is 5-6 year old breeder retiree. She has suffered her share of medical dramas, from uterine infection to kidney removal. She also has some scarring on her eyes from dry eye, and requires having drops put in her eyes twice a day to keep them lubricated. She navigates just fine, suffering only slightly dimished eye sight. Cookie has some arthritis in her spine, even though it doesn't slow her down. She thinks she is a youngster, and sometimes she overdoes it, causing her back to give her trouble. Despite her ailments, Cookie is everything a French Bulldog should be, and more (a few more pounds that is, but we're working on it!). She is about the sweetest dog you will ever meet. She is wonderful with people, children, and other dogs. She is gentle and loving. She loves to snuggle and watch TV, cuddle in bed, and will greet you with a bow, stretch and silly grin in the morning. She is a true lady, and even enjoys sporting the latest in doggie fashions. Cookie's new family should be aware that her continued veterinary care will require both a financial and emotional committment, but Cookie is worth it! Cookie lives for her people and their companionship, so it would be ideal if her someone special worked from home or was home the majority of the day. It would also be wonderful, as Cookie does require more frequent let outs (though she will use potty pads). We ask that her new home have few or no stairs, and no young children please. Cookie would love a nice calm, loving home in which to spend her golden years. In return, she will give you all the love and adoration you could hope for!
Her adoption fee is $250.
