Apollo is one handsome lug of a boy. Apollo's current owners purchased him from a couple in the city who both worked and no longer had time for him. He has been with his family since May of 2009. Apollo just turned 5 in April. He is not only gorgeous, but healthy as well! Apollo is looking for a new home because he has decided that he does not wish to share oxegen with the resident male Newfoundland that has been been with the family for over 6 years. Apollo's current momma loves him to death, but is afraid that if things escalate, one of her "boys" will be hurt. Apollo comes from a family very familiar with the proper care of a Bully gentleman, so he has had very good care. He was neutered upon his arrival in 5/09, and is current on all of his vaccinations. He is in very good shape, and his skin has been very healthy with his current diet and grooming regime.
Apollo needs a home in which he can be center stage. He does get along with 99 percent of the dogs that he meets. He is fine with children and people of all ages. He sometimes try to hump small children, though is very responsive to correction. For this reason Apollo will only be placed with a family that has children over 12. Apollo needs a family with a nice house and yard. While a fence is not a must, it would be a big plus.
Even though the big boy is good with other dogs, we will only place him in a home with an easy going female of the same size or bigger, to ensure there are no personality conflicts. He should be fed separately from other dogs, as he does love his food and will inhale it in seconds flat. Apollo has a silly, easy going personality. He may try to hump new dogs he meets, but with the proper correction, he will cease and desist. Apollo enjoys short walks-a mile or so-in moderate weather. He, as with other bulldogs, will overheat very easily and cannot swim. He must have a life jacket on if he is ever off leash around water. He brain tells him he is buoyant, but his structure disagrees.
Apollo needs a family in which someone willl not be gone more than 4-5 hours per day. he bonds deeply with his main caregiver, and loves to snuggle. His activity level is moderate to low. He is usually a big speed bump. He is on a diet of Eagle Pack holistic lamb and rice, which agrees with his tummy and his skin. He must have his folds, ears and tail cleaned out every day and be bathed with an antimicrobial shampoo every two weeks. While Apollo is a very healthy bulldog, keep in mind that no bullldog is inexpensive to maintain. They require the proper diet, grooming, vigilance and training regime.
If you think you can provide a wonderful forever home for this boy, please apply! Please note: all his applications and screening will be done by his current owner and not our rescue. He will also be adopted out directly from the owner, not the rescue.
Apollo's adoption fee is $300

Meet Nina- she is a frenchie who thinks she can fly! Yes- you read that right- she has jumped off her owners balcony TWICE- so her new home must have NO BALCONIES!!!! She had a plate and pin put in her leg after the first jump and walks and runs normally. We recently had a pin removed, as the leg was healed and the pin was causing an ulcer on her elbow. Her second time jumping- she miracously had no injuries at all! She recently had surgery so she can now breath clearly and not overheat as easily as she did before coming into rescue. She is a busy girl with lots of love and energy to burn off. Are you ready to add a active frenchie girl into your hearts and home? She is spayed, microchipped, comes with heartworm meds, a big bag of her favorite food, a bed, a cover for your car seat, leash, collar and some toys. Her adoption fee for this flying frenchie is $300. Nina was born 9-6-04.
Meet Sweetie- she is just that IF she does not have other dogs to compete with! Her owners had to give her up to rescue due to allergy issues and her not getting along with their other dogs. She resource guards toys around other dogs but not around people.
She has lots of allergy issues and would be best to be adopted by someone who lives in the city- were there is more concrete than grass and trees. She will totally go potty on concrete!!Her birthday is 12/20/04. Due to her allergies- we feel it is best that Sweetie is adopted to a family with children over 12- as any kind of food that she is allergic to will cause an all out allergy reaction. Sweetie MUST go to a NON SMOKING home- it is her worse allergy!!
She loves car rides, will bark when she has to go out and potty- she is 99% housetrained, she does best on a raw diet-( it can be frozen and thawed for her). She is spayed and up to date on her shots, her allergy records will come with her at the time of her adoption, she is up to date on her shots, and she loves getting loved on. She walks nicely on a leash and is really a small frenchie, she is also crate trained. No other dogs or children under the age is necessary for Sweeties' new forever home. She is also microchipped- comes with a leash and collar, some toys and a bag of her frozen raw diet. Her adoption fee is $250 - as her new owners will need to be dilegent with her diet and her daily allergy medications- which she has no problem taking. She will also come with heartworm/ flea meds as well.
Meet Lady Beatrice! She is one sweet little pug whose owner had to give her up due to the economy and the families current situation. She is great with kids and other dogs if that are not too hyper with her. She loves to be loved on, go for car rides and short walks or run around a yard or the house. She loves her toys and food time! She has stenosis of the rear and knuckles her back feet when she walks but can run like a rabbit! She wears a diaper as she dribbles sometimes due to the stenosis but she seems to like wearing it and will go potty outside on command. If your heart and home is big enough for this sweet girl -she has lots of love to give you in return. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all shots- her adoption fee is $200.
Cookie is a 6 year old French Bulldog that was used for breeding. She has overcome a tremendous amount of health issues- which she has overcome. When we received her into the rescue, she had a UTI. Medicine didn't work, so the vets surgically went in and removed some of her kidney and some of her bladder. Gave her antibiotics and said she should get better. And she was... Then a few weeks later, she developed a high fever and labored breathing. Took her back to the vet and they opened her back up and found out her kidney ruptured. So they removed her kidney. She has been doing wonderfully ever since. She, now, is a young 6 year old that loves her family. Follows me around everywhere I go, she right behind me. When I'm on the couch, she's on my lap. When I'm on the computer, she's at my feet. We recommend a house that is able to have a barking dog because when you aren't with her, she barks in her crate. And since she has only a portion of her bladder, I put pee pads in her crate, and this works great for her. Medically wise, she's on 3 different eye drops from a previous eye injury, and she is on Science Diet K/D for her missing kidney. Other than that is is completely healthy. She really wants a family to call her own. One that will understand her barking and her small medical needs.
She is great about putting her eye drops in daily and loves her special diet. She is a lover girl that adores attention and people. Does well with smaller dogs. She has a playful side as well.
She will come with some of her special food and eyedrops- adoption fee is $350.
